Once their was a secret love
Beyond the bounds of convention;
That burst it's banks and overflowed
This caused untold contention.

Considered an abomination by their peers
They suffered untold misery;
Their love survived even this
Times were very hard for adultery.

The age gap was considered
Even worse was the class distinction;
All wanted this to end
And just except extinction.

The pain and anguish took their lives
The pain was just to great;
Peer pressure even now
Withdraw it before it's too late.

The timing of this love
Is so consequential;
Other plans already drawn
Disasters are potential.

Weddings and families joined,
Harrowing to say the least;
How has this sprung upon us
This powerful released love beast.

Better late than never
Is how the saying goes;
In this case the reverse is true
Stop early before she blows!

Can this love now be denied
Or will it rear it's head again;
Will I be able to love her true
Or will this now be my bane.

Forbidden Love

The stars still danced in the dawning sky
As we walked the enchanted wood
Kind eyes gleam and berries bloom
In a toadstool circle we stood
Our forbidden love is sacred
yet it is so strong
But the sun will soon be watching
The birds will sing their song
Now the night has ended
we shall soon go home
So he slides into her fingers
A single red rose.

Why did you run away
Just because you were scared;
You hadn't felt like this in years
I know you really cared.

So now you've married her
She's stood by you thick and thin;
You've even tempted me
I should've kicked you in the shin.

She told me she would steal you
It's taken many years for me to finally see;
That you would have suffocated me
You just find it impossible-monogamy!

Your kiss was sweeter than I ever knew
My heart skipped so much faster;
You were not mine to kiss
This will only lead to disaster.

My head kept telling my heart to stop
Oh dear! Whatever shall I do;
I don't seem to be able to stop myself
Whenever I am close to you.

You know that we must stop this tryst right now
I beg you if you are strong then please just go away;
Your poor wife she cannot know and
Don't lead me on as if to save for another day.

She'll sit there with her tear stained eyes and think of him again.
She loves him but he's too blind to see and each day he breaks her a little more.
Her mind is telling her it's okay to move on, while her heart is screaming don't let go.
She's a hopeless romantic and he's just hopeless.
So another story repeated of a silly girl in love with a foolish boy.
